    The company looked to refresh their technology and add additional systems to boost productivity and efficiency of their highly intensive data-driven workloads. The company required significant data processing and performance demands relative to the demand of business operations in the industry. The data processing was significantly time-intensive taking up to 24 hours. This allowed our expert team to design an optimal solution based on the latest technology from Supermicro and Western Digital, through a high-performance data-processing environment with reduced costs relative to Tier 1 distributors.     Results

    It is important for us to understand our client’s business objectives and situation, thus allowing us to recommend the company to commit towards a leasing proposal for their solution. In consideration of their high valued business structure, leasing the solution was the most cost-effective outcome, with the overall reduction to CAPEX. With this, we extended their systems from 8 servers to 14 compute nodes as 3 production servers and 1 back-up server, giving them a high-density solution that saved space, improved performance and considered redundancy.

    We satisfied the company’s main requirements of high-performance computing through a solution based on parallel processing. The Western Digital JBOD was set up as an HPC caching server compatible as a cluster parallel storage, substantially improving the write speed and serve files faster. Overall, this solution was able to improve the time taken to process data workloads, making jobs more productive, efficient and quicker. As a result, productivity and efficiency of workloads has more than doubled, with jobs that used to take a few weeks, now taking a few days.
