Nutanix cloud software stack has been optimised with Intel technology through their Intel Xeon Scalable processors, Intel Optane SSDs, Intel 3D NAND SSDs and networking capabilities. The optimisation in software and hardware allows for the portability of workload and infrastructure modernisation.
It has been newly announced that Nutanix appliances and OEM hardware supporting the Nutanix software stack will be highly compatible with Intel’s Optane technology – both persistent memory and SSDs. The Intel DCB for Nutanix Enterprise Cloud is highly configurable with their initial two base server configurations:
· 2U 4-node system, Intel Compute Module HNS2600BP family
· 2U 1-node system, Intel Server Board S2600WF family
The Intel 2U 4-node DCB features an advanced thermal design, allowing for high compute density, with the option to further incorporate powerful CPUs that deliver more performance in a 2U space and lower hardware costs when compared to 4x separate 1U or 2U systems. This Intel Data Centre Block supporting Intel Compute Module HNS2600BP is highly effective as a virtualised system.
The Intel 2U 1-node DCB features Intel’s Server Board S2600WF and 24 high performance flash storage devices, for balanced input and output operations. This system provides greater throughput and lower latency, allowing for faster access to large datasets, optimal for enterprise-level workloads.
Both base systems contain essential hardware to optimally host Nutanix Enterprise Cloud OS.
Nutanix has evolved HCI architecture to be highly compatible with the latest storage technologies such as Intel Optane SSDs and NVMe-based SSDs. The delivered lower latency provides up to 50% faster performance for I/O intensive workloads, such as large-scale applications and large databases. In addition, this has resulted in improving VM density, lowering the overall TCO for all applications.
With the commitment of secure infrastructure services, Nutanix recently announced Flow Security, a centralised SaaS-based management application that provides compliant monitoring, security operations and network visibility throughout Nutanix-powered public and private cloud environments.
Nutanix newly provides virtual networking capabilities through Nutanix Flow. The flow networking looks to simplify tasks related to creating, isolating and managing software-defined networks that connect applications utilised in private data centres and public cloud environments. In addition, highly simplifying the networking of hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
