Who we are?
The key building block of Seagate systems, which make all critical components interchangeable regardless of size or budget, is that enclosures can be populated with our hard drives and SSDs to provide the right performance at the right price point. Modularity makes Seagate Exos and Nytro systems easy to set up, maintain, and expand via interchangeable FRUs and hot-swappable components, including the controller.
Users are kept front and centre by understanding the challenges they face in maintaining large scale systems. There is substantially simplified user experience with modular products that have easily replaceable parts, assembly and repair that requires no tools, and built-in resiliency that avoids frequent operator intervention.
Indicators Used to Measure the Success of Investments in Data Management and Analytics in Improving Performance of the Organization
Seagate Systems provides a solution for efficient DataOps as a foundation for rapidly building and training AI models and for deploying analytics at scale. These optimised analytical results can lead to a competitive advantage.
The survey highlights that better data analysis leads to measurably better business outcomes. Companies that improve the fastest can expect better business results compared to other competitors.
Better results due to data management and analytics seen across the enterprise included:
• Better employee productivity.• Better employee retention.• Lower costs.• Improved regulatory compliance.• Better new customer acquisition.
Enterprises today rely more heavily than ever on data – from data that drives their daily operations to the data that provides actionable information to create a competitive advantage in their industry. They also rely on evolving tech to keep their data safe and accessible, during downtime or in unforeseeable system failures.
Traditional RAID technology has been optimized for use in environments with limited or finite storage capacity. Nowadays, companies are rapidly implementing storage solutions with very high capacity potential.
But with traditional RAID types, the overall system performance can slow down dramatically during rebuilds when storage capacity increases. The speed of rebuild is tied to the performance of a single HDD. However, with Seagate ADAPT technology, rebuild can be distributed to many drives in a RAID system and provides cumulative performance boost of multiple drives.
Replaces traditional RAID types with a protection scheme that distributes parity across a larger set of HDDs or SSDs.
This table shows the calculated numbers for performance impacts and rebuild times for a RAID 6 disk group versus an ADAPT disk group of 24, 56, and 106 drives. The main takeaways: the greater the ADAPT disk group size, the more the data protection benefits accelerate. It shows the reduced amount of time until the disk group can survive a third drive failure – from over 55 hours to just 25 minutes in an ADAPT group with 106 drives.
RAID systems are engineered to protect against drive failure, ADAPT offers the next level of protection against failure. Should one of the drives in the RAID system happen to fail, ADAPT greatly improves the time it takes to get that system back to a fully fault-tolerant state. As a result, businesses don’t need to sacrifice fast rebuild time and system performance with Seagate’s systems – Nytro X and Exos X.
