Intel 2nd Gen Xeon Scalable Family
DT83-SS228-NMDOR supports Intel 2nd Gen Xeon Scalable family which drives greater efficiencies and lower TCO across the modernisation of infrastructures. The processor provides a foundation for enterprises, cloud, HPC, storage and communication applications.
This processor features:
The Intel 2nd Gen Xeon Scalable family provides consistent performance for diverse workloads with the support of breakthrough memory innovation from Intel Optane persistent memory.
Single CPU Socket
This is a single socket system, single-socket servers take advantage of the evolution in server processing technology and form factor. The 1-rack unit, single-socket server can provide the I/O and compute power necessary to handle data-intensive workloads, access software-defined storage, expand virtualization capabilities and maintain edge setups.
Savings on software license fees, improved thermal properties of single-socket servers to limit power consumption and reduce energy costs are major benefits of using a single socket system.
Tower Form Factor
DT83-SS228-NMDOR is built based on a tower form factor designed to handle heavy workloads. The space inside the chassis can accommodate effective cooling systems with large fans and radiators to handle ideal temperatures through CPU or GPU-intensive workloads.
DT83-SS228-NMDOR can support up to 512GB of RAM which ensures high storage capacity, allowing users on a server to run a ton of processes all at the same time. This RAM capacity is best suited for servers that are data-intensive or a network where many users are accessing the internet or data storage all at once.
3.5" SAS/SATA Hot Swap
DT83-SS228-NMDOR is equipped with either 3.5" SAS or SATA hot swappable drive options for easy to swap out hard drives upon failure, simple data transfer and backup using multiple hard drives, and ability to utilise more hard drives in fewer bays.
DT83-SS228-NMDOR is equipped with NVMe which is the next-generation solid state storage technology. The NVMe efficiently supports the needs of client systems and enterprises using PCIe SSD. NVMe delivers rapid access and consumes less power, thus being more cost efficient. NVMe reduces latency and delivers higher input/output per second, as well as offering high performance across multiple cores for users that need quick access to data, support for security protocols and scalability for current and future performance.
Redundant Power Supply
This system utilises a redundant power supply which refers to being powered by two or more physical power supplies. As a result, this improves system up-time as each power supply will have the capacity to run the system on its own if one were to fail.
This system can be utilised as a small business server for basic entry-level corporate applications such as creating a local firewall, day-to-day office workloads with high numbers of users, server as a print server and other related use cases.
